Deidre Anderson, (MO) is the Chairperson of the Jackson County Schools Collaborative near Kansas City, MO. She is also the President-Elect of NSAA. Deidre provides SAP training to local educators and non-profit agency staff and is responsible for coordinating the efforts of the SAP teams in the Hickman Mills School District.

Patricia Berry Patricia Berry, (IL) is the Student Assistance Center Director for Prevention First, Inc., and is the President of NSAA. She coordinates SAP training and technical assistance to schools throughout Illinois. Additionally, she conducts a variety of SAP trainings nationally. Pat has served as president of the Illinois Association of Student Assistance Professionals. She has been published in the Student Assistance Journal and Prevention Forum. She is an Illinois Certified SAP Professional, a Certified Senior Alcohol and Other Drug Preventionist, and a Certified True Colors trainer.

Jo Ann Burkholder

Jo Ann Burkholder, (VA) MS, CPP, CAC, is the Past-President of NSAA and is a Specialist with the office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools in the Virginia Department of Education. She is the former President of the Virginia Student Assistance Association and has been appointed or elected to numerous youth prevention boards and councils. Recently she served as a consultant to the New York Times “Newspaper in Education,” while continuing to provide presentations on a variety of topics germane to Student Assistance Programming nationally and internationally.

James Campain

James Campain, (CO) NSAA Secretary, is the Coordinator of Student Assistance Services for the Poudre School District in Fort Collins, CO. He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, coordinating mental health services, drug and alcohol services and crisis response teams for school district. He also supervises field placement students for the School of Social Work at Colorado State University and the University of Denver, conducts child custody evaluations for family court. Jim is also a co-founder of ACTUALITY, providing training and managementforsocial norms marketingcampaigns in over 25 sites in 15 states.

Rodger Dinwiddie, (TN) is the Executive Director of Students Taking a Right Stand (STARS) based in Nashville, TN. He serves as a trainer and consultant to the national affiliate of STARS, the Center for Youth Issues (CYI), Inc. Rodger is a national trainer in the areas of student assistance, substance abuse prevention/intervention and violence prevention for Hazelden. Rodger is a Past President and an Ex-Officio member of the NSAA board.

Beth Hicks Beth Hicks, (KY) is the Student Assistance Counselor for Assumption High School in Louisville, KY. She is also the President of the Kentucky Association of Student Assistance Counselors, a NSAA chapter. She has been a student assistance counselor at the high school level for fifteen years. She has also consulted with others in merging the strengths of student assistance into the most effective intervention for drug and alcohol programming for each particular situation.

Lori Hulle, (NY) is a Student Assistance Counselor for Washingtonville Middle School, in Washingtonville, NY. She is a member and past chair of the Orange County Student Assistance Counselor's Association and current chair of the New York State Coalition of Student Assistance Professionals. Her background includes twenty-four years in the field of psychiatric and substance abuse treatment; including twenty years with adolescents; fifteen as a Student Assistance Professional.

Renee Mello, (CA) is the Supervisor for Student Assistance Programs for the San Juan Unified School District, in Carmichael, CA. She provides leadership and technical assistance to high school SAP Specialists and is an advocate for all K-12 SAPs throughout the district. She has been recognized for her significant contributions in the field of education by the National Council of Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (NCADD), is currently a representative to a statewide SAP work group at the California Department of Education. Renee has also earned certificates in the filed of Chemical Dependency, Human Service as well as a Family Development credential

Carol Nixon, (TN) is Director of Evaluation and Grants for Students Taking a Right Stand, (STARS), based in Nashville, TN.  She has seventeen years of experience in program evaluation, services research, and quality improvement related to prevention, intervention, and treatment services in school and community settings. Her work has been funded by federal agencies, such as the DOD, HRSA, and SAMHSA, as well as by state agencies, managed care organizations, and nonprofit organizations. She has authored numerous publications and reports and has presented evaluation findings nationally.

Mary Ann Solberg, Deputy Director, ONDCP

Mary Ann Solberg, (SC) is the former Deputy Director of the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP). Mary Ann formerly served as the Executive Director of the Troy Community Coalition, (MI). The Troy Community Coalition won the Community Anti-Drug Coalition of America (CADCA) Coalition of the Year Award. She has trained hundreds of community groups and served as a trainer for CADCA and the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP). In 1998, Ms. Solberg was appointed to the President's Commission on Drug-Free Communities and was elected as co-chairperson. Confirmed by the United States Senate as the ONDCP Deputy Director in 2002, she served in this postion until 2007.

Robert Vincent, (WA) is the Director of True North- Student Assistance Training & Treatment Services, of Educational Service District 113 in Olympia, WA. He is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of a forty-five school district consortium addressing Substance Abuse Prevention, Intervention, and Treatment programs within schools. He is a nationally certified clinician, and was previously the Director for Counseling and Assistance Programs for the U.S. Navy. He is the principal investigator of the Olympia Effective Adolescent Grant, and has served as a consultant specializing in the implementation of schools-based treatment programs for several states looking at implementation of school-based treatment services and with the Center of Substance Abuse Treatment.

Gina Woodard Gina Woodward, (IN) is a Guidance Counselor for Clark Pleasant Middle School, in Indianapolis, IN. She also coordinates Project PEACE Peer Mediation training, and is a certified Olweus Bullying Prevention trainer. Gina is an Adjunct Faculty member with Indiana University – Purdue University – Indianapolis School of Education. Gina is a former teacher and school counselor who brings nine years of public school experience to her current position. A passion for meeting the educational and developmental needs of all children drives her passion for delivery and advocacy of best practices in student assistance and elimination of student barriers to learning.

Lee Rush

Lee Rush, (PA) is the Executive Director of NSAA. He also is the Executive Director of justCommunity, Inc., a non-profit company offering technical assistance in the areas of student assistance programs, community building, youth development and restorative justice practices. Lee has worked with youth and youth serving organizations since 1976. He also directs Project CARE, a state-approved provider of Student Assistance Program training and consultation.
